Here are some of the things we hear most often
Exhaustion & sleep disturbance
- I wake up already tired
- I run out of steam before I know it
- Getting to sleep can be difficult - I just can't get comfortable
- I have weird aches in my legs at night
- Sometimes I lie awake half the night worrying about the next day.,
- My body temperature is up and down like a yo-yo
- I don't have the energy for things I used to enjoy
- Libido is a thing of the past
Emotions & Thinking
- My moods are all over the place
- I snap at people I care about
- One thing triggers another and I don't feel emotionally in control
- I just don't feel like me any-more
- Things I used to take for granted now feel overwhelming
- I used to be able to focus or concentrate now If I can its for short periods.
- I worry about not being as mentally sharp as I'm used to
- My emotions are very high
- When I feel over-whelmed I sometimes lose my train of thought or forget simple things.
- I worry that this is not going to stop or get better
Physical issues
- My skin and hair have completely changed
- I become bloated and uncomfortable as the day goes on.
- My body feels swollen and heavy
- I sometimes have uncontrollable cravings
- I find it difficult to regulate my temperature
- I don't recognise myself in the mirror any-more.
- New symptoms keep appearing and nothing I try seems to help.
When we ask women how life was before these symptoms, began and what they miss most, this is what they tell us.
- Waking up refreshed and ready for the day.
- Feeling good, calm, knowing I'm emotionally steady.
- Having energy again for work, family and the things I love in life.
- Feeling sharp, focussed and mentally clear.
- Confident in myself - knowing I can rely on myself.
- Seeing me looking back from the mirror.
- Knowing that I can once again cope with my normal daily life.
